I’m becoming less and less interested in making historical recorders; the whole community seems to have come to a bit of a standstill, and I’m lacking innovative musicians to inspire me.
On the other hand, the physics of recorders still fascinate me!
Many of my designs have become global standards, and my latest creation is the Sigo-Bass.
The “bore” is so unusual that it’s nothing short of a miracle it was even possible to make.
I really enjoy having Lizzy paint my Sigos; a bit of colour does the recorder a world of good :-)
I’ll probably still make some tenors in A and B, even though the players do not seem to be interested in them.
An adjustable beak is being developed, and a picup is waiting for its turn.
I don’t think I’ll be able to stop experimenting with bores – there’s still plenty to discover :-)
